I started doing Champ in a salon I was working at. He was always very nervous, showed aggression towards other dogs and people (including myself), and he just didn't seem comfortable in the environment. He hated having his nails done and would throw the biggest tantrum. I've done Champ many times in the salon, then I left and went mobile. Some clients didn't know what happened. I hoped the salon would inform all my clients. Champ ended up going to another salon where the owner was called because he was just too aggressive. Champ needed stability and a routine that suits him. He needed to build trust with a groomer in a calm environment. Champ eventually found me at last and I was ecstatic to get him back on my schedule. We were mobile for years and he was always excited to see me. Ready for his bath, he would try to jump in my tub. Fast-forward to now (not mobile), Champ still does excellent in our calm environment. He doesn't fight for his nails, there are less distraction to target his nervousness, and he just a joy to groom. His blow outs are always satisfying and that excitement he gets when he sees me is the best feeling in the world, because I did that. I was able to achieve his trust so he can feel his best. I will continue to work with him until the end.
